Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. It’s a very rewarding way
to become involved and there’s a volunteer opportunity to suit all interests and
activity levels.
Here are just a few of the ways our volunteers make a huge contribution:
Events -
Activities such as the annual hike, the Angel
Tree, auctions and yard sales bring our members together, help spread word in
the community and raise money.
Communications -
Volunteers help produce brochures, keep the website up to date and help spread
the word about our activities in the community as public speakers.
Office support -There’s
always something to do in the office—from helping with mail outs to updating
databases.
Administration -
Running a volunteer society takes a lot
of hands—and brains. We’re always looking for committed board and committee
members.
Gardening -
We're blessed with a lovely garden at Pryor House. Volunteers helped to reclaim
it from the weeds when we took over the building and help to keep it looking
lovely throughout the year!
Renovation -
It's an old building and there’s nearly always some fix-up project on the go.
Many hands make light work!
